Life is not a Bed of Roses…

Every now and then i use to reflect on my past life and every time i do that i just can’t forbid myself remembering this event and this saying.

It was the Valedictory day at my School and things went on as usual and while the Assistant Headmaster of our School was speaking he said like this

Boys remember onething, ‘Life is not a Bed of Roses’..

And now, years after this, when i think of my past life i could feel how true he was. Yes Life is not a Bed of Roses. it’s a pathway of thorns

Everyone face problems in life even the richest man in the Earth has his own problems, and naturally the poor too face problems everyday. Life is not as easy as dozing off in a bed of Roses but we have to walk on the thorns and endure all trials and hardships to attain a state where we could feel the thorns as Roses.

There is a verse in Holy Bible it goes like this

And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it” (1 Corinthians 10:13).

So it is very clear that for Every problems we face in life there is a divine solution. For every trials for every temptations for every problems we face there is a way to escape from them, but it is in our hands to take the right path towards the solution. So this is one of the lessons i learnt in my life.

While at School our Tamil Sir encouraged us a lot to write poems, of course in tamil. He will give some topics and will ask the boys to write poems on that. Wow i was amazed to hear everyone’s poem. All were equally good. Influenced by that i tried my hands in writing something in English (actually it was supposed to be a poem ) I wrote about determination, and here it is. This is something relevant to this post.

To a determined Heart

A life without Strife is a rice without Spice

Failures hurt like fire but a determined heart will not tire

Tears may blur your sight but cease not to fight

Mockers mock more and more but determination burns to the core

When your ways are straight your future is always bright

when God is so near what’s the need to fear?

Life may not be a bed of rose for you

But remember it’s the path that God chose for you

And when at last you sigh out of relief

Remember it’s the day of your belief
